ABOUT ABOUT
What is a “medicine” and what is a “drug,” and how and when does a medicine become a drug? Scientists and policy-makers have struggled to define these terms, often framing the issues as matters of public health. Discover the lively history of good medicine going to the streets, from Prohibition in the ’20s to an unprecedented rise in prescription drug abuse and insurance fraud today. The program will explore popular culture, examining how drugs are portrayed in music, film, and television once they have become illegal.

Speakers: Antoinette Thwaites, Association of Women in Forensic Science; Dr. Adeboye Adejare, University of the Sciences in Philadelphia
